Current Activities

The Geology and Mining Cadastre Division is in charge of the following tasks:

  • Carry out tenders to issue licenses for area of mineral concentration explored by the State budget, furthermore revoked, surrendered or expired license areas;
  • Monitor activities related to exploration and mining licenses;
  • Create conditions under which the public is able to control the processes of issuing and reissuing of licenses except for radioactive minerals, license revocation, transfer, pledge and surrender of the entire or a part of the licensed area;
  • Receive, register and make decisions with respect to applications for licenses except for radioactive minerals;
  • Maintain the registry of licenses;
  • Maintain the cartographic registry of licenses;
  • Issue exploration and mining licenses except for radioactive minerals;
  • Collect service and license fees except for radioactive minerals;
  • Resolve boundary disputes between and among license holders;
  • Provide interested persons with access to the registry and the cartographic registry of licenses and to notify relevant government agencies as well as the public about any changes made in the registry.
